Received signed commission from King George V. Commanded 13 Platoon No. 4 Company. Awarded Croix de Guerre by French for bravery under enemy fire during WW1. Had eight trips to France and received General Service Medal and Victory Medal. November 1920 join Indian Service of Engineers in Calcutta.
